In Rochester, New York during the 1980s, a series of murders occurs with a chilling connection: each victim's first and last names start with the same letter of the alphabet, and their bodies are discovered in locations that also correspond to an alphabetical sequence ('C' for the first crime scene). Detective Megan Paige is assigned to the case but her obsession with solving it begins to take a toll on her mental health.
