Storia
Aris, a symphonic composer, has been haunted for twelve years by Aphrodite, a 14-year-old girl who was the sole survivor of an airplane crash. Aris, on the verge of suicide due to his existential crisis and obsession with Aphrodite, decides to give himself another chance when he sees her face in a newspaper. He becomes determined to meet her before his birthday, which is approaching in less than a month. Aris believes that Aphrodite holds a single word that could save him from his despair. Despite Aphrodite's initial reluctance to reveal this word, Aris persists in his quest to find her in France. As time runs out, Aris becomes increasingly desperate and resigned to his fate.
Riassunto
Arhangelos tou pathous (1987), directed by Nikos Vergitsis, is a drama about obsession, redemption, and the lengths one might go to find meaning in life. The film explores the inner turmoil of its protagonist, Aris, as he grapples with his past and searches for purpose through his fixation on Aphrodite. With its themes of love, loss, and the human condition, Arhangelos tou pathous offers a compelling narrative that blurs the lines between passion and desperation.
