Trama
Billy, after spending five years in prison, gets released and immediately kidnaps Layla, a teenage student, forcing her to accompany him to his parents' house. He introduces her as his girlfriend and claims they are about to get married. Throughout their stay, Billy's behavior is erratic and aggressive towards his family, particularly his father who owes him money from a past loan. Meanwhile, Layla tries to understand Billy's motivations but remains frightened of him. Billy's parents eventually manage to pay back the debt, after which Billy leaves with Layla without revealing his true intentions.

Riepilogo
Buffalo '66 is Vincent Gallo's directorial debut, released in 1998. The film blends comedy and drama as it follows ex-convict Billy upon his release from prison. Instead of returning home or trying to reintegrate into society, Billy embarks on a peculiar journey involving the kidnapping of Layla and a strained visit with his parents. Gallo's unique perspective explores themes of loneliness, outsider culture, and the struggle of re-entry for ex-offenders.
