Storia
Joe, a psychiatrist, secretly films his female patients as an experiment while simultaneously struggling with his own mental breakdown. He becomes obsessed with a former lover and aims to document 'an experiment in contemporary sexual aberration'. As he records his volatile encounters with his patients, Joe's own psyche begins to unravel, leading him to push both himself and his patients to their limits.
Riassunto
'Coming Apart' (1969) is an avant-garde exploration of mental health, sexuality, and cinematic form directed by Milton Moses Ginsberg. Starring Rip Torn as Joe, a psychiatrist on the brink of madness, the film presents itself as a pseudo-documentary or mockumentary, with Joe secretly recording his sessions with female patients. The movie delves into dark eroticism and self-referential cinematic form, as Joe's experiment leads him to confront his own mental breakdown while documenting sexually charged encounters.
