Storia
Chev Chelios, presumed dead after his heart was stolen by Chinese mobsters, wakes up alive but with a battery-powered heart that requires regular electric jolts to function. With only an hour's worth of life in his artificial heart, Chev must find his original heart and get it replaced by Doc Miles, an unlicensed cardiologist. Aided by Eve, Rei, Venus (a stripper), and a Tourette's-afflicted pal, Chev navigates through the city, constantly needing electric charges to keep going. He faces various challenges like horse races, mansion infiltrations, gangsters, and even a foot chase involving police helicopters. Throughout his journey, Chev must confront his mortality while trying to expose the truth behind his organ harvesting.
Riassunto
Directed by Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine, 'Crank: High Voltage' is a sequel to their 2006 film 'Crank'. The movie is an absurdist action thriller known for its ultraviolent content and black comedy elements. It's set in an unknown city where Chev Chelios (Jason Statham) finds himself in a race against time, literally, trying to keep his artificial heart functional while seeking his stolen organ. The film explores themes of mortality, survival, and the lengths one would go to save their own life.
