Storia
In the desolate city of Domina Nocturna, our protagonist Angelique wanders aimlessly until she begins experiencing vivid visions. Through these hallucinations, she learns about a ruthless vampire who knows no love, an ancient ritual that binds Satan worshippers in an eternal cycle of death and passion, and a witch searching for the ultimate spell. The visions are intense but the music of the gothic atmosphere is all Angelique hears; no voice can rise above it.
Riassunto
Domina Nocturna (2021), directed by Larissa Anzoategui in her sophomore film, is a haunting tribute to classic Euro-Horror films. It draws inspiration from authors Lord Byron and Álvares de Azevedo, as well as Anzoategui's admiration for expressionist aesthetics. The film follows Angelique, a young woman haunted by dark visions as she navigates an abandoned city. This atmospheric horror film is unique in that its cast and crew were composed entirely of women.
