Storia
Christina, a wealthy Greek-Australian school teacher engaged to a lawyer, begins teaching at an inner-city working-class school where she finds her ideas challenged by the students. While helping a group of non-anglo students form a soccer club against the racist PE teacher's support for Australian Rules Football, Christina falls in love with 17-year-old aspiring soccer player Nick. Their affair forces Christina to confront and challenge herself, her family, and their cultural norms, ultimately leading her to question her traditional life path.
Riassunto
Heartbreak Kid is a 1993 Australian film directed by Michael Jenkins that combines drama, romance, and comedy to explore contemporary ethnic relationships in Australia. The story revolves around Christina, a Greek-Australian teacher from a wealthy background, who becomes involved with Nick, one of her working-class students. The age difference and cultural divide between them challenge Christina's traditional views on life and love, forcing her to question her engagement to a lawyer and confront the expectations placed upon her by her family and community.
