During the holiday season, a third girl has been murdered in Paris, leading Commissioner Rousseau to suspect that there might be a serial killer at work. The police are under pressure from the media, who love sensationalizing such cases. Amidst this chaos, Mariella De Luca, a young and mysterious female inspector from Italy, joins Rousseau's team. The two policemen join forces to solve the case, which they believe has roots in Italy during the Years of Lead.
