In the grim backdrop of World War II, Yulia entrusts her young Jewish son Hugo to Mariana, a sex worker living in a brothel, for his safety. Hugo is initially hidden away in a closet, but over time, Mariana brings him out and cares for him. Despite his confined existence, Hugo uses his imagination to create ghostly figures and scenarios. As the war rages on outside, their unique bond deepens.
