In a small town in the Po valley, Mara, an attractive young teacher from Tuscany, arrives and stirs up the community's quiet life. She begins a relationship with Hassan, a Tunisian mechanic who is well-integrated into the village. When Mara announces her plans to move to Brazil, the dynamics of their relationship change significantly.
