Storia
La jaula de oro follows three teenagers from Guatemala's slums - Juan, Sara, and Samuel - as they embark on a journey to the United States in search of a better life. Along their treacherous journey through Mexico, they encounter Chauk, an Indian from Chiapas who communicates primarily through his native language rather than Spanish. The group travels together via freight trains and walks along railroad tracks, facing numerous challenges that forever change their lives.
Riassunto
La jaula de oro (The Golden Dream), directed by Diego Quemada-Diez in 2013, is a gritty drama about the struggles of illegal immigration. The film centers around four young individuals from Guatemala and Chiapas, Mexico, who risk their lives to travel northward towards the United States. Shot in a verité style with non-professional actors, it offers an authentic glimpse into the harsh realities faced by migrants during their perilous journey.
