Storia
In 1863, an unidentified man with no legs washes ashore in Acadia and is taken to the home of Jean the Corsican and his young wife Julitte. The man, who appears to be mute and well-dressed, becomes the focus of Julitte's care as she nurses him back to health. Meanwhile, Jean, a former soldier estranged from his wife and the townspeople, pursues his obsession with finding pirate treasure hidden in a nearby cave, hoping it will provide him with a way out of Acadia. As Julitte grows closer to the mysterious man she names Jérôme, tension builds between Jean's bitterness and the growing bond between Julitte and Jérôme.
