Michael D'Angelo is a washed-up alcoholic cop. Demoted from his job and living in the past, he takes out his pain by exploring the nightlife of Los Angeles. Theresa, the only woman he's ever loved, is a powerful Assistant D.A. married to a prominent doctor, Peter, and is about to take on the most important case of her firm's history. Michael D'Angelo, once a celebrated LAPD detective now reduced to a liquor-soaked has-been, prowls LA's nightlife under the cloak of darkness. Meanwhile, Theresa, his one true love, ascends to power as Assistant District Attorney, her marriage to prominent surgeon Peter seemingly idyllic, until it isn't. As Theresa takes on a high-profile case against a suspected serial killer, threatening letters arrive. When her husband vanishes and she's blackmailed, Theresa turns to Michael, her estranged ex and former homicide detective, desperate for his help to unravel the explosive secrets that threaten to consume them all.
