Storia
In October 1970, American college student Billy Hayes attempts to smuggle two kilos of hashish out of Turkey by strapping it to his body while trying to board a flight back home with his girlfriend. He is arrested and initially sentenced to over four years for possession, but the prison environment proves harsh due to sadistic guard Hamidou's torture tactics. Despite being warned not to trust anyone, Billy befriends fellow inmates Jimmy Booth, Erich, and Max. When his legal appeals fail and Billy becomes desperate, he considers Max's advice to 'catch the midnight express' - escape.
