Jacob, a young man with a rare skin disorder that makes him sensitive to sunlight, lives a solitary life working as a security guard at night. His world changes when he meets and falls in love with Mary, a local bartender. As his condition worsens, Jacob begins craving blood for sustenance, initially consuming animal blood but eventually resorting to human blood due to its effectiveness. This newfound dependence on human blood brings out violent tendencies in him, coinciding with a series of grisly murders in the city.
