Storia
Screwed follows former soldier Sam Norwood who takes up employment as a prison officer upon his return from Iraq. Initially optimistic about his new role, Sam soon encounters the harsh realities of prison life and becomes embroiled in the corrupt underworld of the institution. He witnesses drug trafficking, struggles with corrupt fellow guards, and grapples with maintaining order amidst chaotic conditions. Throughout his experiences, Sam's moral compass is tested as he navigates this dangerous environment.
Riassunto
Based on the semi-biographical book by former UK prison guard Ronnie Thompson, Screwed offers a gritty portrayal of life behind bars. Directed by Reg Traviss and starring James D'Arcy (Master & Commander), Noel Clarke (Kidulthood), Frank Harper (The Football Factory), Jamie Foreman (Layer Cake), Andrew Shim (This Is England), and Kate Magowan (Stardust), the film explores themes of corruption, moral decay, and survival in a brutal system. It provides a candid glimpse into the harsh realities faced by prison officers and inmates alike.
