Storia
Connie Sumner, an 11-year married woman with a son and seemingly perfect life in New York City, feels sexually unfulfilled in her marriage to Edward. One day, while trying to hail a taxi, she literally runs into handsome book collector Paul Martin and becomes instantly obsessed with him. The two embark on an affair, but Edward begins to suspect Connie's infidelity when he notices changes in her behavior and discovers a love letter from Paul. He confronts Paul at his apartment, leading to a violent altercation that results in Paul's death. Believing he has killed his wife's lover, Edward returns home, where Connie confesses her affair but denies knowing about the fight between Edward and Paul. The film ends with them silently staring at each other, leaving their future uncertain.
