Trama
In 17th century France, a penniless prince invites King Louis XIV to three days of festivities at his chateau in Chantilly to secure a commission as a general. The prince tasks Vatel, his steward and a man of honor with organizing these extravagances. While trying to maintain dignity amidst the prince's dishonorable demands, Vatel finds himself drawn to Anne de Montausier, Louis XIV's newest mistress, who appreciates Vatel's authenticity.
