Storia

In 'Diabolique', the wife and mistress of a cruel school master conspire to murder him due to his abusive behavior. They execute their plan by poisoning his drink at a restaurant. The body is strategically dumped, but it disappears soon after. This unexpected turn leads to psychological tension for both women when a retired police investigator starts questioning them about the husband's disappearance. Matters are further complicated when one of the pupils claims to have seen the school master alive.

Riassunto

Diabolique (1996) is an American thriller directed by Jeremiah S. Chechik, based on the French novel 'Les Diaboliques' by Pierre Boileau and Thomas Narcejac. The film follows a twisted tale of murderous conspiracy between a wife and her husband's mistress, showcasing themes of abuse, betrayal, and desperation. Despite being based on a well-known source material, the plot significantly diverges in its second half, creating a unique narrative twist.
