Storia

Gilles and Christine, two aimless teens living on the outskirts of Paris, steal records from a supermarket but are caught. Christine's parents send her to a nursing home, from which she escapes to reunite with Gilles at a house shared by other youths. Together, they decide to travel south towards an artist commune Christine has heard about, sleeping rough along the way.

Riassunto

Directed by Olivier Assayas in 1994, 'L'eau froide' (Cold Water) is a French drama film that explores themes of teenage angst, rebellion, and aimlessness. The story follows Gilles and Christine, two teenagers with dysfunctional families who lead purposeless lives on the outskirts of Paris. Their reckless behavior escalates when they steal records from a supermarket, resulting in Christine's brief incarceration at a nursing home. Upon escaping, she rejoins Gilles, and together they embark on an impulsive journey southwards in search of an artist commune. The film is notable for its gritty portrayal of youth culture and its exploration of the restlessness and disillusionment felt by many teenagers during that time.
