In 2003 Poland, two decades after a terrorist attack halted the country's liberation and maintained the Soviet Union's control, a law student named Kajetan and disgraced police investigator named Anatol stumble upon a conspiracy that has kept Poland under a repressive police state. The leaders of this regime have a secret plan to radically transform Poland, which could ignite a revolution if discovered. As Kajetan digs deeper into the mystery surrounding his father's death during the 1980s and Anatol investigates a series of murders connected to the conspiracy, they uncover truths that threaten to disrupt the nation's stability.
Riassunto
Set against the backdrop of Poland's Cold War history, '1983' is a political thriller that explores themes of liberation, corruption, and the power of secrets. The series follows Kajetan Skorupski, an idealistic law student who becomes entangled in a conspiracy dating back to 1983, when a terrorist attack thwarted Poland's democratic movement. As he investigates his father's mysterious death, Kajetan crosses paths with Anatol Janów, a disgraced police investigator also seeking answers. Together, they discover a secret plan that could drastically alter the course of Polish history and challenge the status quo.
