Faking Hitler follows journalist Gerd Heidemann's pursuit of what he believes to be a groundbreaking scoop: a diary written by Adolf Hitler himself. However, unbeknownst to Heidemann, the supposed 'Hitler Diaries' are actually an elaborate forgery created by art dealer and criminal Konrad Kujau. As Heidemann becomes increasingly invested in verifying the diaries' authenticity, he unwittingly aids Kujau's deception, leading to unforeseen consequences.
