Born as Ángela Molina Tejedor on October 5, 1955, in Madrid, Spain, Ángela Molina is one of the most distinguished figures in Spanish and international cinema. The daughter of the legendary singer and actor Antonio Molina, she was born into a prominent artistic family where several of her siblings also pursued careers in the performing arts. She began her formal training in dance and theater at the Escuela Superior de Madrid before making her screen debut in the early 1970s.
Molina rose to international prominence in 1977 when she starred in "That Obscure Object of Desire," the final masterpiece of director Luis Buñuel. Her career is defined by her collaborations with world-renowned directors, including Pedro Almodóvar in films like "Live Flesh" (1997) and "Broken Embraces," as well as Ridley Scott, Giuseppe Tornatore, and Lina Wertmüller.
Throughout her career, she has received numerous accolades, including the David di Donatello Award for Best Actress in 1986—becoming the first foreign actress to win the Italian honor—and the Spanish National Cinematography Award in 2016.
