In 1980s Rio de Janeiro, Maria Cecilia, the 17-year-old virgin daughter of wealthy Dr. Werneck, finds herself in a traumatic ordeal when she is raped by five black men after her car breaks down near an isolated junkyard. In an effort to salvage his family's honor and reputation, Werneck arranges for his partner Peixoto to find Maria Cecilia a husband among their company's employees. However, Edgard is torn between this opportunity and his genuine affection for Ritinha, his neighbor.
