Born on February 2, 1978, in Münster, Antje Nikola Mönning is a multifaceted German actress, producer, composer, and author. After completing her acting studies at Schauspiel München in 2002, she gained early experience on international theater stages and toured North America with a Broadway musical. She rose to national prominence through her television role as Novice Jenny Marquard in the long-running ARD series “Um Himmels Willen” (2007–2009).
Since 2007, Mönning has been a core member of the independent film production company wtp international, where she collaborates closely with director Roland Reber as a producer and lead actress. Her work in provocative films such as Angels with Dirty Wings (2009)—dubbed the "scandal film of the year"—and The Taste of Life (2017) reflects her commitment to exploring unconventional themes of sexuality and society. Beyond the screen, she composes film scores under the pseudonym Schwester Antje and is an active author; her book “Nicht normal” ist ganz normal (2023) advocates for body positivity and sexual liberation. Recently, she co-produced and starred in the collective project Überall gibt es ein Hausen (2024), which received a nomination for the German Film Critics Association Awards 2025.
