Biografia completa

Jasmine Trinca is an acclaimed Italian actress and director, widely recognized as one of the most prominent figures in contemporary European auteur cinema. She was born on April 24, 1981, in Rome, Italy. Her birth name is the same as her professional name, Jasmine Trinca.

Trinca’s rise to fame was unconventional; she was a high school student with no formal acting training when director Nanni Moretti discovered her during a talent search. She made her professional debut in his 2001 film The Son's Room (La stanza del figlio), which won the prestigious Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Although she initially intended to pursue a career in archaeology at the Sapienza University of Rome, the success of her early roles—most notably in the epic The Best of Youth (La meglio gioventù) in 2003—solidified her path in the film industry.

Throughout her career, she has garnered numerous accolades, including two David di Donatello awards and the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize for Best Performance at Cannes for her role in Fortunata (2017). In recent years, she has expanded her creative reach into directing, making her feature-length debut with Marcel! in 2022.
