Elena Nikolaeva was born and raised in the Khabarovsk region of Russia, amidst the taiga forest. Her father, Pavel Likhovtsev, was a senior ranger and bear hunter who kept an apiary and brought up his eldest child, Elena (also known as Zhenya), in a rustic, peasant-like lifestyle. However, during the transition into the 1990s, their apiary was ruined.

In the Khabarovsk region of Russia, senior ranger and bear hunter Pavel Likhovtsev keeps an apiary in the taiga and raises his eldest son Zhenya as a peasant. However, with the onset of the nineties, their peaceful life is disrupted when the apiary goes bust, forcing the family to relocate to Khabarovsk in search of better opportunities. Meanwhile, the city is experiencing a power struggle as all influence and resources are being consolidated by the criminal organization 'Obshchak', which will soon become one of the most powerful crime syndicates worldwide.
