Biografia completa

Born on February 3, 1997, in Barcelona, Spain, Violeta Rodríguez is a multifaceted Spanish actress and screenwriter who hails from a prominent cinematic lineage. As the daughter of renowned actress Ariadna Gil and filmmaker David Trueba, she was literally named after the character her mother played in the Oscar-winning film Belle Époque.

Rodríguez began her acting career at a young age, debuting in the 2007 film Bajo las estrellas. She has since built a reputation for her involvement in independent and experimental projects, most notably starring in and co-writing the film Violeta no coge el ascensor (2019). Her career is defined by a blend of acting, photography, and dramaturgy, often exploring unconventional narratives. In 2024, she took on a central role in La revolución de las musas, a hybrid film that reclaims the voices of historical muses, further establishing her as a significant figure in contemporary Spanish "auteur" cinema.

Storia

Ana, a young woman from Colombia, arrives at a lavish mansion on Spain's Costa Brava to work as an uncontractual maid for a wealthy family of art dealers during their summer holiday. She works tirelessly, serving the family and their privileged guests, while being promised fair compensation if she remains obedient and discreet. Despite her initial compliance, Ana begins to explore her own desires and agency within the confines of her role, navigating the hedonistic world of the wealthy and discovering new freedoms.

Riassunto

'Calladita' (Spanish for 'quietly'), directed by Miguel Faus in 2023, is a comedic drama set against the backdrop of Spain's Costa Brava elite. The film explores class conflict through the eyes of Ana, a Colombian maid working for a wealthy family. While serving her employers and their indulgent lifestyle, Ana begins to find her voice and challenge societal expectations placed upon her. Faus draws inspiration from his own experiences growing up in this environment, offering a unique perspective on the dynamics between the bourgeoisie and those who serve them.
