Full Biography
Aki Takejô, born Takeda Shinji on August 13, 1929 in Osaka Prefecture, Japan, was a Japanese actor known for his role as Old Orin in the 1983 film 'Narayama bushikô'. The movie, based on a novel by Furukawa Taimei, follows a traditional rural practice where villagers over the age of 70 must ascend a mountain to await death. Takejô's character, Orin, is an elderly woman who is preparing for her turn to follow this custom.
