Dervla Kirwan, born on October 24, 1971 in Churchtown, Dublin, Ireland, is an Irish actress known for her roles in British television shows like 'Ballykissangel' and 'Goodnight Sweetheart'. She also appeared in the Doctor Who Christmas special episode, 'The Next Doctor', and voiced the advertising campaign 'this is not just food' for Marks & Spencer. Kirwan's father was an insurance broker, and her mother a language teacher; she is the youngest of three daughters and a great-granddaughter of Margaret Collins-O'Driscoll, sister of Irish War of Independence leader Michael Collins.
