She appeared in various television shows such as Vanishing Son, Life Is Wild, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, Profiler, Sliders, JAG, Frasier, Epoch, Star Trek: Enterprise, Traveler, and Diagnosis: Murder. She also acted in films like Star Trek: Insurrection and Exit to Eden. Niznik earned her Master of Fine Arts degree from Duke University.
