Andrea Werhun is a Toronto-based writer, performer, and producer who has gained prominence for her candid portrayals of her life experiences on screen. She co-authored 'Modern Whore: A Memoir' with Nicole Bazuin in 2022, which will soon be adapted into a major motion picture starring Werhun herself and produced by Palme D'Or winner Sean Baker. In 2023, she co-wrote, produced, and performed in the short film 'Thriving', about a Black non-binary former sex worker's dissociative identity disorder diagnosis, which premiered at Sundance and was selected for TIFF Canada's Top Ten. Werhun has also been featured in several award-winning shorts including 'Modern Whore' (SXSW) and 'Last Night at the Strip Club'. She has been interviewed by prominent media outlets such as The New York Times and CBC Radio.
