Born as Debra Jo Fondren on February 5, 1955, in Los Angeles, California, she is an American model and actress primarily recognized for her work with Playboy. Her career trajectory shifted significantly when she was discovered working as a waitress in Beaumont, Texas, by photographer Robert Scott Hooper.
She achieved legendary status as the Playmate of the Month in September 1977 and was crowned Playmate of the Year in 1978, famously known for her natural, knee-length blonde hair. While she is best remembered for her 1970s peak, she remained an active figure in the Playboy world well into the 1990s. In 1993, she appeared in the video Playboy: Sexy Lingerie V, sporting a shorter, red hairstyle that differed from her iconic early look.
