"Lyndsey Marshall, an elegant British actress, is known for her grace yet remains open to on-screen nudity. Born on June 16, 1978, in Manchester, England, Marshall initially pursued Classics in college with aspirations of a career in archeology. However, recognizing her innate talent for performance, she subsequently applied to the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama to launch her entertainment career. Soon after graduating, Marshall secured her first significant stage role in 'Fireface' at the Royal Court Theatre. Her acting prowess was swiftly acknowledged, earning her the Critics' Circle Theatre Award for Best Newcomer in 2001 for performances in 'Redundant' and 'Boston Marriage'.
Marshall's on-screen debut occurred in productions like 'Peak Practice' (2000), 'The Gathering Storm' (2002), 'Midsomer Murders' (2002), and 'The Hours' (2002). More recently, she has appeared in projects such as 'The League of Gentlemen' (2017), 'Hanna' (2019), 'Agatha and the Curse of Ishtar' (2019), 'The Invisible' (2019), and 'Dracula' (2020). However, Marshall is perhaps best known to American audiences for her role as Cleopatra in HBO's 'Rome' (2005), a part that required her to bare all. This was not Marshall's first screen appearance involving nudity; she had previously appeared in the TV movie 'Sons & Lovers' (2003)."
