Born on March 3, 1993, in Budapest, Hungary, Mária Dér (also known as Marus Dér) is a versatile Hungarian actress and writer. Her birth name is recorded as Mária Dér.
Dér developed an early interest in the performing arts, having practiced ice dancing before pursuing a professional career in acting. She received her formal training at the University of Kaposvár, where she was a student in the acting department from 2013 to 2018. Following her graduation, she became a frequent presence on the Hungarian stage, performing at prestigious venues such as the National Theatre (Nemzeti Színház), the Veszprém Petőfi Theatre, and the Hevesi Sándor Theatre in Zalaegerszeg.
She gained significant recognition for her role as Mercédesz Fekete in the 2016 biographical drama Nincs kegyelem (No Mercy), which explores a tragic miscarriage of justice. Beyond domestic productions, she has appeared in international projects, including a role in the series FBI: International (2021) and the film The Black Spider (2022). In addition to her on-screen and stage roles, she is an active voice actress, frequently credited in Hungarian dubbing projects under the name Dér Marus.
