Born as Mariya Matsel on February 18, 2001, in Minsk, Belarus, the talented actress has quickly made a name for herself in the Eastern European film industry. After moving to Moscow at the age of 17, she enrolled in the prestigious Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK), from which she graduated in 2022.
She first gained significant international recognition for her role as Zinaida Kolmogorova in the historical drama series Dead Mountain: The Dyatlov Pass Incident (2020). This was followed by her breakout performance as Elya in the crime drama YuZZZ (2022), which solidified her status as a rising star. Beyond acting, Matsel is a multi-talented artist who composes and performs music under the stage name Gráta. She has since appeared in diverse projects such as the psychological thriller Chyornoye oblako (2023) and the film Land of Sasha, which was showcased at the Berlinale Film Festival.
