born September 22nd, 1983, is an accomplished English actress known for her portrayal of Karen Maguire in the hit Channel 4 series Shameless (2004-2013). After studying theatre and dance at Preston College, Atkinson honed her craft teaching dance at Glenda Ann School in Goostrey before transitioning to screen acting.
Her television career began with a bang when she landed the role of Karen Maguire in Shameless, appearing in all 11 series. Since then, Atkinson has delivered memorable performances across various genres, including comedy drama Life On Mars, dark sitcom Ideal, and BBC Three's Trexx and Flipside.
