Biografia completa
Born Renate Elvira Hütte on February 11, 1941, in Berlin, Germany, the actress known as Rena Horten grew up in the district of Berlin-Steglitz. Her journey into the spotlight began when she was crowned Miss Berlin in 1960, a title that paved the way for her early screen appearances.
Horten initially appeared in European productions under the name Renate Hutter, making her film debut in the 1962 thriller Sherlock Holmes and the Deadly Necklace. However, she is most famously remembered for her collaboration with cult director Russ Meyer during the mid-1960s. Under the stage name Rena Horten, she delivered a magnetic and dialogue-free performance as Eula in the 1965 Southern Gothic drama Mudhoney, a film Meyer later admitted he directed largely out of his infatuation with her.
Following her tenure in the American exploitation scene and guest roles on television series like Mission: Impossible and The Odd Couple, Horten transitioned away from acting. She eventually found a second successful career in Hollywood as a high-profile hairstylist for Cher. Rena Horten passed away on November 11, 2009, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
