Born as Silke Hornillos Klein on February 6, 1974, in Madrid, Spain, the actress rose to prominence in the 1990s as a major figure in Spanish cinema. The daughter of a Spanish lawyer and a German translator, she initially pursued studies in English and jewelry before embarking on an acting career.
She gained international recognition for her versatile performances, most notably in the romantic comedy Almejas y mejillones (2000), where she showcased her comedic timing alongside Jorge Perugorría. Her filmography also includes acclaimed works such as Earth (1996), which earned her a Goya Award nomination, and Hola, ¿estás sola?. Although she largely retired from the film industry around 2006, she remains a celebrated icon of her era and currently focuses on jewelry design in Ibiza.
