Biografia completa
Born as Soledad Relato Ballon (also known by the nickname "Solly") on March 11, 1940, in Nabua, Camarines Sur, Philippines, Sofia Moran is a celebrated actress and singer who left a significant mark on Philippine and international cinema.
Discovered in 1967 during a talent showcase in Manila, she was given her screen name by action star and future president Joseph Estrada, who helped launch her career by introducing her in the major film Valiente Brothers (1968). Due to her sophisticated beauty and screen presence, she was famously dubbed the "Sophia Loren of the Philippines".
During her active years between 1967 and 1974, she appeared in over 60 films, gaining international cult recognition for her role as Theresa in the exploitation classic Women in Cages (1971). Following her retirement from show business, she lived in the United States for 35 years—primarily in Las Vegas and Atlantic City—before returning to her hometown in the Philippines in 2010. Today, she is known for her extensive philanthropic work and involvement with the Catholic Church in her native region.
