Her journey in the entertainment industry began at age 14 when she was discovered by an agent at a national cheerleading competition. Before fully committing to acting, she established herself as a successful fashion model, working for high-profile designers such as Burberry and Vera Wang while studying Psychology at the University of Oklahoma.
Edmonds is particularly noted for her leading role as Sabina in the 2011 psychological thriller SafeWord. Initially auditioning for a supporting part, her performance so impressed the directors that she was cast as the lead just two days later.
